Skirts + Blanket

While I was down in Utah for my break in between semesters, I was a little gun(g?)-ho and was sewing like crazy! it was great. But I made 2 skirts and a Hooker blanket. Thats right everyone, I am dropping out of college and I am now working the corner. :) {just kidding, I really wanted a pink backround but it was more time-consuming to find pink minkie}

Here are the two skirts.... The one on the right is a circle skirt, and the one on the Left is a pleated skirt.
And here is the sexy blanket! My roomies all love it!

This is Wendy's amazing quilt she gave to us for Christmas! We LOVE it!!!!!! I have to blog it because I know Wendy won't. Seriously have you ever seen anything so cute!!

And can you believe she made 3 of them, one for me, Rachel and Heidi!! I couldn't believe it when I opened this up I totally got all choked up because I had seen the pattern months ago at the quilt store and said how much I would love a quilt like it but I knew I would never be able to make anything that great. Oh and Roger wrote this sweet little poem on the back, it is such a sweet family present this year!!

Recipe for soup @Christmas party

I had several people ask me for the recipe for soup at the party, so I thought I would post it: Here goes:

Potato Dill Soup

2 T dehydrated onion(or one fresh chopped)
1/2 c. chopped celery
4 T. chicken boullion
4 C water
2- 8 oz pkg cream cheese
1 c diced ham
1-16 oz frozen hash browns
1 T. dill

Boil first 4 ingredients until veggies are tender
Stir in remaining ingredients and heat through.

Here are pictures of my cute crib bedding that Wendy made! The pictures don't really do it justice, it really is so so so cute!
This was my first time doing curtains and I basically just made it up as I went, they turned out okay, I'm such an amature.
The top quilt. I love how it is so big because I can use it with her next bed too.

Well here it is...I have been meaning to put this up for a little while...and I will be honest, I am quite proud! This is only like my second post on the crafty blog, but I am planning on turning over a new leaf...anyways, I got this pattern at Material Girls (speaking of, Megan and Heather you girls are AMAZING!! I think I am going this weekend and I am going to totally be on the lookout for Fresh Poppy Design stuff:) Seriously, you guys ROCK!) and it was pretty easy to do...hopefully I will be cooking much much more!

I know that I have been a terrible "craft coordinator" but now is the time to get back into the swing of things. We-the crafty girls- have a bunch of changes this summer we have lost a regular(Meg:() and we have some new additions that we have high hopes for (Katie). So we will pick up where we left off in APRIL! So come one come all to Aunt Jill's house the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 and be ready to craft your heart out!

This was day one with the baby's room, measuring and cutting all the moldings and putting them on the walls, Kyle spent 13 hours in the room that day.
Tons of wood putty and sanding, that was the slowest part!
Kyle decided one night after he finished sanding that he wanted to do a crown molding, he totally taught himself how to do it and it turned out great. Oh, and he HATES painting so I had to get a picture of this, he got up super early on Saturday and painted a bunch for me.
Our kids were such little helpers. I think they're just as happy as we are that it's done.
This is how it turned out, it's so pretty and I can't wait to get all my bedding in, of course Wendy takes all the credit for the bedding but it's going to be so cute. I know it's weird that I didn't do any pink, but I'm not really into pink all that much but don't worry almost every article of clothing I've purchased is pink so she will be plenty girly! Thanks to Rachel for giving me the idea to go with Tiffany's bule I think it turned out so cute!

Well, we have been crazy bust getting ready for little baby girl to get here, just 8 weeks now!!! Hooray! I know it still is forever but I have so much to do I think it is going pretty fast. Anyway, I did't make these cute blankets, of course Wendy did but aren't they adorable!!!!! I will post more of the nursery soon but here is where we are now. Kyle is working so hard to make it perfect hopefully by next weekend it will be done!!!!

My Mommy made these cute matching outfits for sophie and sawyer's birthday's.

I am with Amy, that this weekend rocked my socks! I can't even begin to tell you girls how much stinking fun I had. Who knew Heather and Megan got so silly after 10:00 at night...OK maybe 11:00 I guess that's what happens when you have kids and your normal bed time is 9:30!
I know that we all got a ton done and it was so nice to spend the weekend with all of you girls. I have to say that I am truly grateful for the relationships that we all have and am so amazed that 19 Bullock girls can all get together for 3 days and have a wonderful time. I love that we all have common interest and hobbies. I am amazed at how talented each one of you are and love that you were willing to share those talents with the rest of us! I know this is kinda mushy but remember the I am 7 months prego. I do love each one of you and I hope that we can continue this tradition for many many more years!

Crafty Girls Weekend, Doggies, Bibs and Notebooks

Okay! Here are Heather and Megan's contributions.

1. Taggies and Bibs

Mine are actually dirty! Sick! Anyway, all you need is the fabric, you can either get away with 1/4 yd or fat quarters, whatever you prefer. Backing of the same size, for bibs I get terry cloth, inexpensive and works well. Then you'll need attachments, I prefer velcro but you can use ribbons and all sorts of snappy things. I put taggies on one of my bibs, that was pretty cute. Taggies can be any size, and you just need coordinating ribbon for the outside, I put lots of them on mine. (If you guys haven't seen taggies they are perfect for like 4-7 months when they pick at the tags on everything.) These are really good cheap gifts too if you don't have a lil one to use them for!

2.Weiner Doggie

I have the pattern I will bring, I've only made one. This is what it says you'll need. 1/2 yd of fabric (I got a little of a different fabric for his ears). 8" x 12" batting. 12 oz Polyester fill. (I used only polyester fill on mine). Eyes (10-12 mm) and Nose (15 mm) which I found at JoAnns. All of it is sewing, except we need a hot glue gun to put his legs down. Up until that point he will look like a seal :) Anyway, they turn out dang cute, I just used leftover fabric from Sawyer's room to match!
3. Notebooks

Here is a good one for not as crafty or easy projects. They are just regular notebooks covered adorably! You need a couple of coordinating scrapbook papers, some ribbons, any other embellishments and mod podge (the white craft glue, can find at any craft store) and a foam brush to apply the glue. I have made TONS of these, great gifts, plus I use lists for everything. These are a journal and then one is for craft/decorating ideas.

Wendy and Marie Osmond BFF'S

I don't know a whole ton about these quilts but I will try and tell you what I know. The fabric is Marie Osmond's and it was a challenge to see what design you could come up with and you had to use all the fabric and then they are going to auction them off for charity. I know that she had 2 friends that worked on it with her but she did the quilting so blow up the pictures and see what a fantastic job she did. Just in case you are wondering, no they don't win anything and they don't know who's quilt got the most money, all she does get is little warm fuzzzies!

These are sooo cute and easy.
SUPPLIES:
- 1 inch ribbon only a 1/2 a yard or less just enough to fit around the kids waist. (or you can use Elastic but I liked the Ribbon)
- Tulle (you don't need a lot. About 3/4 a yard per color. I used 4 colors in this tutu Dark pink, light pink, very light pink, and sparkly white. but if you only use 2 colors than maybe get more)

HEADBAND INFO

Okay people who are going to do headbands :) Here is the info.
Supplies
-fake flowers (you can get a bundle at walmart for like 2 bucks and don't worry if they have small ones in the bundle too, you can use those as well)
-wire cutters
-hot glue gun
-jewels (varying sizes for the center of your flower)
-alligator clips (you can get a box of 100 at Sallys for 5 dollars or a box of 25 for 2.50...so I just got the box of 100)
-ribbon (1/2 inch ribbon to cover the alligator clip so you can glue the flower on)
- ribbon (one inch.. white would do great for the headband)
-knee highs (you can get those at walmart for .35 cents, they come in those little plastic ball containers.... if you have a hard time finding them call Lindsey because she can ALWAYS find them in Denver and whenever I go to the Provo Walmart I have my choice of black and navy blue...or that weird nude color)

Also in the picture, I made the flower and headband, but you can also make cute bows. So if you want to bring your left over ribbon or just go buy some... bring that too so you can make bows. Oh and I had a bunch of the thin ribbon left over from scrapbooking and small jewels so I made the hair clips for when Payton is older. Also the clip with the small flower, that is from the small flowers on the bundles at walmart. But you can also use scrapbook flowers. If you do bring left over ribbon bring a needle and thread too... because sometimes sewing them together works better than hot glue. If you have any questions let me or Lindsey know :)

Quilt Information

So the two quilts that we are going to do in a group setting is a squares quilt and a "Buggy Barn". These quilts are awesome for first timers, with the squares one Wendy is going to teach you how to sew the blocks together using a chain method. It is not hard to do and the top can be done easily in one afternoon. If you want to learn how to quilt I highly suggest that you do it now with Wendy there to help you every step of the way!
The Buggy Barn quilt is a super cute Halloween quilt- I know it's May- but it would be so cute to hang over your couch in October. Buggy Barn is another method of quilting, it isn't that hard but it does get confusing and tricky. Once again this is an excellent time to learn how to quilt and to have Wendy right beside you to teach you would be awesome.
If you want practice but don't want to pay for fabric or keep the quilt Wendy can get you squares quilts that go to charity.
Prices-

You can get your own fabric if you would like, just let us know that's what you want to do and I will let you know how much fabric to get.

Ok, so Landon has been going through this Jack Johnson phase because it's all Kyle listens to, every time we get in the car he wants Jack Johnson, he wants to watch the curious George music video etc. Anyway, it's super cute so Kyle took him to this music store and talked to a guitar teacher and got him this little guitar to start learning his chords on. It really is so cute Kyle's teaching himself and Landon together. Anyway, I just had to get some pics of our little stud muffin jammin his tunes. He is so funny on Saturday I buzzed both my boys heads and Landon turned to Colter and said, "Colter, we look just like Jack Johnson." Obsessed much??

Logistics of Craft weekend!

We'll have to figure out more as we get closer, but pretty much each family is in charge of getting carpools together. We'll be leaving Friday Morning. No set time yet...but that is when the Bullocks will head out and then other people can follow or meet us there :)

Sophie's Nursery finished!!!

The cute chandelier was a gift from Mommy, and I spray painted it pink, it makes a huge difference in the room, I want one for all my girls. The photos on the wall I took myself, I made the toole canopy with a hoola hoop and Sophie's left over bedding fabric.

I made all the Bedding (minus the sheet) Dallan's mom made the crib skirt, Dallan and I painted the crib pink. The perfect rug is from Costco (only $50).

Dallan and I did the wallpaper and trim. I have never heard so many cuss words come out of my sweet husband's mouth!

My Mommy made all these pillows from my left over quilt fabric. Bless her heart. I would never have done them. I was so burned out on the Sophie quilt that I finished a month before she was born...as fast as I could!

Here is Sophie's quilt, it is still my favorite quilt I have ever made. (I have only made 4 I think) but I LOVE everything about it. I want to keep it away from her so she doesn't ruin it, but I let her sleep with it because she looks so cute in her crib with it...

My Mommy and I made this window treatment for Addison, but when I did Sophie's bedroom, it matched perfectly with the wallpaper. So I kept it for SOph.

The very last detail, this lamp. I made the roses out of coffee filters. (I know you all think I must have tons of spare time on my hands) Anyhow, I loved how it turned out. Hope you all like this room. Lots of hours, blood, sweat and tears went into finishing it.

It worked!! I am a genius! I have been trying to figure out how to put this picture on and I think I got it! I'm kinds of late on my new year resolution to get my but in gear with scrapbooking but here goes nothing, my first two pages from Christmas in Mexico.
I know this one is kind of plain but sometimes that's how I like them. I don't like to distract too much from the actual photo. But I'm still learning, I don't know how to do a lot of the cool tricks like tearing the paper, I need to make it to craft night one of these nights so I can learn how.

Hi girls, Here is my last 2 weeks scrapbook pages. (I know I owe one for this week too, give me time...) Anyhow, this is Sophie at Gardner's villiage. And Addie at her 4th birthday. (this page is from an album, so no creativity here...) Anyhow, I feel like I am rather up to date on scrapbooking. Alright girls, here is mine!!! do you love it??? Charity rules for inventing it. I took a close up so you can see the 3-D effect. Plus, this was a super cheap project for what you get. We paid $20 each and that includes the $6 in prints. It was easy (so long as you have charity to work the scary man tools). Hope you like it, I can't wait to hang it.

Well, you've all seen this picture before, but since I loved
it so much, I decided to decoupage it onto a frame. It's kind
of hard to tell, but the picture is actually 3D. I printed 2 pictures,
and count out the center of one and glued it to the other (if that
makes any sense). Anyway,it was a super fun project. Since
Heather is storing our table saw, I made her do one too.
I think she'll post hers also! (We made the frames ourselves)!

Here is part 8. I am really hoping to finish this album at least by Christmas, possibly even Ernesto's birthday, but not likely! This was Easter Sunday in England. We went to church, which was so great, they had the funniest testimonies...like they were trying to be funny. But it was a great experience, the church in a totally different place. Then we had Easter dinner, and grandma didn't have enough chairs so she sat on her bathing chair!! It was so sick, but quite a classic story. Then we drove around where my dad grew up, seeing his school, an old home, Grays Beach, which is hardly a beach...anyway it was a great day.

Ernesto and I LOVED our trip, that is why I am making such a detailed album, I am trying to recall all of our stories so we can reflect on the great vacation!

ok, so you know when you grow up with something so your totally biased in thinking it's cute?? well, these are the same stockings my mom made for all of us kids....only hers were in 1970's fabircs:) no offense mom:) I'm sure I could find some cuter stockings if I just bought them at the store, but I guess I'm old fashioned and these bring back memories of Christmas' past.
So here's my latest project... Olivia's stocking:) p.s. don't look close because i am nowhere near the perfectionist that my mom is and there are LOTS of mistakes, but oh well it's done!

You gals are so awesome at your digiscrapping (I think I just made that word up). Or is it escrapping? Anywho-- love all of them. There are tons of cute pages (even the newbies) and some stinkin cute pictures of your kids.

Lincoln Castle and Cathedral

This is page 7 in my series, sorry you guys will get really sick of these! This is at Lincoln Cathedral and Castle in England. They filmed a lot of DaVinci Code in the cathedral so that was pretty cool. My cousin Scott lives in Lincoln, we got together there with his brothers and it was a great little family reunion!

Welcome to the brand new craft blog! I have set this up so that we can share all of our fun crafts with each other.
